“HOT STUFF” (Red Label). Hot Stuff Original is our thin CA glue with a viscosity (3cps) similar to water and no surface tension. When you have parts that fit exactly together, first get them in position, then run this instant glue along the crack, and it will wick right in. If you have tight-fitting joints of non-porous material, Hot Stuff thin CA glue will give you the best results as it will not create any extra space between the pieces, and since you get the parts aligned before applying this instant glue , you can be sure they will be perfectly in place when the glue cures. This thin super glue is also ideal for filling and stopping the spread of splits and hairline cracks in furniture, gunstocks, wood being turned on a lathe (such as pen blanks), and stone. To strengthen stone and porous wood, apply Hot Stuff CA glue to the entire surface and allow it to soak into the pores and cracks- you can also use this instant glue on carbon fiber or fiberglass cloth instead of using resin! Hot Stuff CA glue will harden other types of cloth as well- in fact, professional dancers at top ballet companies use Hot Stuff to strengthen the material of their pointe shoes (see their pointe shoes tutorial). Cure time is 5 seconds.
“SPECIAL” T (Green Label). Special T THICK gap-filling CA glue (green label) has a viscosity (1150-1500) similar to honey. This super glue works great when you use it to bond both porous and non-porous parts, and it can fill larger gaps than our Super T medium CA glue. It is best used to glue parts that are missing pieces or don’t fit very well together. You can bond the same materials as with our other CA glue- wood, metal rubber, nitrile, composites, many types of plastics- and Special T is effective even when a poor fit makes parts look impossible to bond. The gap-filling capability is very useful when there is a large chunk missing from a surface- filling that space with Special T can preserve the structural integrity, seal the area from moisture and contaminants, bond something to the exterior that would not fit otherwise, cover and protect jagged edges, and improve the look of the surface. If you have pieces that do fit well together, then this is the wrong CA glue to use, as it will create extra space in between the pieces. However, if you have a big chunk missing from a wood or stone surface that you need to fill in, or if you are gluing poorly-fitting materials, this is the best instant glue to use. It is also our easiest CA glue to use because Special T doesn’t require a good fit and because the high viscosity makes it run much less than our thinner instant glues. Special T cures slower than our other CA glues (roughly 20 seconds with accelerator and 60 seconds without accelerator when pressed firmly between two parts), so you also have more time to assemble your pieces. Special T CA glue is used for woodworking-related repair and assembly, setting stones and attaching beads, repairing damaged areas in granite countertops, attaching tips to pool cues, gluing finger inserts into bowling balls, repairing damaged model airplanes and cars, assembling bone fragments, putting together and repairing dental bridges and dentures, and countless other applications.
“SUPER T” (Yellow Label) Super T MEDIUM gap-filling CA glue has a viscosity (200-300 cps), similar to syrup. This super glue is perfect for gluing somewhat porous materials and pieces which have small gaps between them. Super T instant glue cures at a slower speed (10-25 seconds) than Hot Stuff. You can bond wood, metal, rubber, nitrile, composites like carbon fiber and Kevlar, many types of plastics, and more. To bond two parts together, apply the Super T CA glue to one part and accelerator to the other part, then push together and hold tightly for around 30 seconds. Super T instant glue is used by professionals to assemble dental prosthetics, guitars and other musical instruments, auto stereo systems, movie sets, trophies, car and airplane interiors, high-end jewelry- the list is very long. Super T is our most versatile CA glue, able to bond porous and non-porous materials with a good fit as well as fill gaps, which is why it is so popular.
